Pristine Waters Downeast.
Maine is a special place, especially for seaweed. The cold clean waters of downeast Maine create ideal growing conditions for a large variety of seaweeds. Our coastal communities are rooted in the traditions of living from the sea and encompass a great respect for our marine resources. Sustainably farmed seaweed from Maine is arguably the finest seaweed in the world. We are committed to supporting our local Maine communities.
Stave Island Deep Water Oysters
Oysters Grown in the Deep Waters of Frenchman Bay.
Maine is also an amazing place to grow oysters! Most oysters are farmed in shallow water either using floating gear or on the sea/river bottom. Our oysters are gown suspended in over 100' of water. This produces exceptionally sweet oysters with an amazingly clean flavor. Since they are not grown on the bottom they avoid fouling, and being grown in deep water means no surface gear or wasted labor and energy to constantly clean and tumble the growing oysters. This growing method has the additional benefit of not having surface gear thus preserving the scenic beauty of our amazing farm.
